Drummer Steve Campbell was born Steven Jeno Csafordi in Sydney Australia in 1974. Child custodial rights were granted to his mother after 4 years of bitter divorce court and the chips fell where they lay. Passage to the United States came easy in 1980. But it came at a price. Every broken family pays a price. Often the price is identity. There are far greater sins against family identity committed than can be represented here. Csafordi embraces the very expression of the processing, accepting and healing of trauma, light of hope, and consequences of ignorance, in real time. Steve Campbell has never been more than just the drummer and a guy with a couple good ideas, until here and now. That's alot of " no " s in a row. To know what one artist can accomplish when pushed to the limits of collaborative scarcity is gold.
